Lord, where are you, here in our time of need?

Fri Sep 18, 2009, 8:46 AM
This is the character meme I have stolen from :icontoxic_fairie:, who stole it from someone else. Hers is much more entertaining, go and read it! And look at some of her fantastic art, while you're at it!

Write out the names of your characters and explain
1) how you thought of their name
2) what made you create the character in the first place
3) how the character has changed over time (if they have changed)
4) any random fun fact about that character

Maddox
1) I have no idea, really. It just...came to me.
2) I *think* it was for my flatmate-at-the-time Heather's world she was building - it had started out of a club in our Shadowrun game called Glitterfall, and has now become the behemoth she's calling disUrbe now. She's really into world-building, but I hope she actually does something with this one! Anyhow. Maddox was made to be the 'Hound' of the 'Hunter', which means there was this chick who was given the title of Hunter and she was a leader, and he was her diplomat and ambassador, as well as handling the things that needed a bit more...delicacy than the Hunter was generally known for. So yeah. He killed people, I guess...but kept it classy? :o
3) Oh MAN has he changed. Strangely enough, he's come fill-circle in many ways. He started off as a stylish, introverted, brutal servant of this woman, and then he became a character for my friend Mo's world in LA. He was her girl Di's lover, and he was sensitive, compassionate, loving...a really nice guy! WHAT HAPPENED, MADDOX?
I think the next place he really showed up was in Fractured. He's a thief and runner now, and he's ruthless, manipulative, still stylish and introverted, and entirely selfish. Oh, and he likes to torment his best friend, Roy G. Biv. He isn't exactly what anyone could call a nice guy.
4) He once killed his lover's friend and left the fellow to die on the tiled floor of a restaurant kitchen. Geex, Maddox!

Kürten
1) My character Kürten shared the surname of Peter Kürten, an extremely...uh, *prolific* mass killer dubbed 'The Dusseldorf Vampire'. His story is fascinating, and he is my favourite mass killer. I mean, you know, if I had one.
2) The Baroque needed a villain to do Newton's dirty work!
3) He's become deeper and more conflicted, and perhaps, in only three cases I know of, doubted the sanctity of his work as God's (Bloody) Soldier. One of these was due to a small boy, the other to an angel, the third to a whore.
4) He likes to strangle girls! FUN TIMES YOU GUYS!

Just got back from a very unwise shopping trip. Well. It wasn't a SPREE, and I only got things I needed, like a camera (need it for work, and mine is taking forever getting repaired, and this is a cheapie!) and sharpie markers (stocking up! I USE THEM A LOT OK) and cotton yarn for kitchenstuffs and clicky pencils (they were on sale!) and some yarn to make a scarf to bribe myself into getting my knitting going again (it's only red heart, sigh) and pipe cleaners (...no idea, yeah) and BUTTONS! Which, ok, I admit I only got to cheer myself up because I was in a lousy mood. I think I'll sew them onto my shoes, whee!

So, yes. Have muffins to bake tomorrow, and have dishsoap to scrub kitchen with, and and poison to fight off any new infiltrations of the Evil Insect Army. I WILL defeat them, I will! *intense looks* And tonight I'm taking my sissers TooLa and Pieka out for dinners, even though I really cannot afford it. But I did promise, so!

What I need most is to hear from all of you! I miss you lots, and you should come and say hullo to me and such. I doing a good job of being active! I'm posting stuff, see? See? Yay for me? *bounce*

AHOY MY DARLINGCAKES

A creative Project of SOME MAGNITUDE is battering at my brain, and I should vermuch like you to help complete it! To quote old Andronicus: "If you love me, as I think you do, go hence:" - anyone who has a webcam, a camera with enough memory for just a few minutes of video...hell, even still shots! This is going into a collaborative project, Hopefully!
Oh. You do NOT have to be near my [link] close to me or anyone else to participate. This can be done pretty much all over the internets, as I'm planning it now - though of course if you and your friends feel like getting creative, that's so much the better! It involves screaming and being crazy and, if you are VERY awesome, (fake) bloodiness. Corn syrup and food colouring, my lovemuffins. And, uh...capturing yourself/your friends in all your bloody insane glory in some way, whether in photograph, video, webcam, what-have-you.

also helpful to the cause:
- sound mixing/computery magic/industrially-music-stuffs
- simple website magicianry
- advice for me on video editing, if you would like to share some
- spreading the word

But REALLY all I need are lots of clips of everyone being all bloody and crazy and running from zee <s>germans</s> xombies. Let us make some magic, lumplings. Uh, I should probably mention that this is not being made to be sold in any way, shape, or form. You're not likely to make any money and I'm sure as hell not going to. It's just for fun, for art, and to put something wild and beautiful into the world.

- Words, Words, Words. Lots of them coming lately, joy!
- Generally just being a rockstar.
- All you lovelies still want to play?

these are the things that we'll never underst

Got a bunch of really, really neat tunes from a dj friend of mine. I have to say, I liked The Presets and Crystal Castles before (yeah, allright, and Ladytron. A little.) but these new tunes are really providing me with a lot of awesome listening. Not only are the Crystal Castles tracks brill to paint to, there's a song by
Hercules and Love Affair that's pretty much become my new obsession. And not to mention they're all of them clubby and dancy and catchy ad HELL. Wheeee.

Right. So I have three paintings that are all hovering somewhere around part-way done. But I've been getting distracted with old school Doctor Who episodes (One and so on) and I spent about three days watching the War Machines from beginning to end. Wheee. And I still haven't seen fourth series of the new set! Only a few eps, and I was done with Poisoned Sky when I realised that...UMM. It's a two parter! OH MY. You would think I would have onedered about the completely lack of build-up (not to mention reintroduction of UNIT, and *thank you* for not shoving Torchwood into every single ep, argh) but...apparently not! HEE.

SO I have about three television series I haven't seen yet. I could keep watching Battlestar Galactica and see how long it takes before the soap opera starts to make my teeth turn to honeycomb again...or I could watch Deadwood, Moonlight, or Blackpool. Any suggestions?

So!
